FAQ

Borrowing a battery

How long can I rent a battery for?

You can rent a battery for as long as you need, and you can even exceed your stock of time in "My Time". First, make sure you have a time in "My Time" greater than 00:00. Second, it is important to note that a battery rental ends if the battery is rented for 20 consecutive hours, as this is considered a loss or oversight. This 20-hour time limit is used to compensate for the loss of this battery. However, you still have the option of returning this battery to the On Charge station nearest to you, and if you do, that 20-hour usage time will be reduced to 10 hours.

Why is the number of batteries displayed in the App less than the actual number of batteries in place?

Because the station in question may contain one or more batteries which are not sufficiently recharged. When this is the case, these batteries are not displayed in the App.

Do I need to have an internet connection to unlock a battery?

Yes, an internet connection is required to unlock a battery. The app will notify you if you try to unlock a battery without an internet connection.

In what types of places can I find On Charge battery stations?

On Charge battery stations are found in many types of places such as bars, restaurants, sports halls etc. To see if a station is available in a location, check the "Map Station" in the App.

Can I take a battery and use it outside the restaurant, bar…?

Yes, this is fully permitted. You even have the option of returning the battery to another address where there is an On Charge station and a vacant place. Note, however, that the maximum battery rental time is 20 consecutive hours.

Returning the battery

How do I know if the battery has been returned correctly?

The battery is returned correctly if the timer stops when the battery is placed in the station and, if the time available in « My Time » is updated. Make sure that the battery is correctly inserted in the station; this is the case when the small white indicator light is present.

What if, when returning a battery, there are no places available in the station?

You have the option of returning the battery to another station if the station where you took the battery has no places available. However, if no station in the network has places available or if the alternative station is too long distance away, and prevents you from returning the battery early enough, you must notify us as soon as possible in the report an issue section giving as much detail as possible.

What if the timer is still running after the battery is returned?

The timer can run for 5 seconds after returning the battery. However, the app does manage to round the time upwards so that this is not a problem for you. However, if the timer runs continuously well after returning the battery, you must notify us as soon as possible in the report an issue section giving as much detail as possible.
